Modeling, Simulation, Evaluation, & Analysis

Air Force Research Laboratory Space Vehicles Directorate

Statement of Objectives

Topic Area 3

SCOPE:

The contractor shall provide modeling and simulation analysis to support AFRL/RV Tech Area Portfolio development and experiment trade studies. The contractor is expected to utilize existing RVES models and tools as well as develop any needed models and tools as appropriate.

For any new models and tools, the contractor shall support the integration, test, and training for these new products. For any software developed on this task, the contractor will provide support for verification, validation, and accreditation and thorough software documentation as defined by the CDRLs.

The contractor will perform engineering analysis studies on possible, proposed, and existing experiments to support experiment design, system and subsystem modeling, technology trades, anomaly resolution, systems engineering, flight experiment and mission planning, and software tool development.

OBJECTIVES:

Electro-Optical Payload Trade Study for ISR

• The Government is seeking innovative government reference designs. Contractor proposed analysis and studies shall be non-proprietary.

• The contractor shall perform notional system trade studies for Hyper-Spectral or Hyper-Temporal imagers supporting ISR mission.

• The contractor shall provide size, weight, and power (SWAP) estimates, ROM cost estimates, and expected performance data for the sensor(s).

• The proposed payloads shall be applicable to space vehicles in the nano to small satellite range.

• The anticipated technical period of performance is approximately 3 months.

Electro-Optical Payload Trade Study for SSA

• The Government is seeking innovative government reference designs. Contractor proposed analysis and studies shall be non-proprietary.

• The contractor shall perform notional system trade studies for Space Situational Awareness sensors for Identification and Characterization and/or Search, Detect, and Track.

• The contractor shall provide size, weight, and power (SWAP) estimates, ROM cost estimates, and expected performance data for the sensor(s).

• The proposed payloads shall be applicable to space vehicles in the nano to ESPA class satellite range.
