BAA 0001-21 – Metal Castings Amendment 0001
The following answers respond to questions submitted in reference to BAA 0001-21:
Question 1: The BAA states that the proposal due date is September 29, 2021, but there is no statement as to when the White Papers are due. Please confirm the due date for White Paper submissions.
Answer 1:
The Proposal Due Late listed on Page 2 of the BAA has been deleted. White Papers may be submitted at any time during the BAA open period from 7/1/2021 through 6/30/2026. The government may request proposals after review of a White Paper; such requests will include any required Proposal Due Date.
Question 2: May more than one BAA Area of Interest be listed for each white paper?
Answer 2:
Yes, a project may address more than one Area of Interest, however, each White Paper may only contain one project.
Question 3: The BAA provides a white paper template (Attachment C). Upon acceptance of a white paper, will there be a technical proposal template provided?
Answer 3:
No template will be provided for Technical Proposals. Please refer to Section IV, “Technical Proposal Contents,” and Section VII, “Proposal Instructions” for required technical proposal contents and instructions.
Question 4: In regard to the white paper template (Attachment C), Is the table of information required on the cover sheet and at the start of the project summary section? If so, does the table count toward the page limit of the project summary section?
Answer 4:
The table of information on the White Paper Cover Sheet in Attachment C of the BAA is required only on the cover sheet. Attachment C of the BAA states, “White Papers shall not exceed 6 pages (1 page cover sheet + 1 page executive summary + 4 page(s) Project Summary).”
