7’x14’ steel high side dual axle trailers (7)
Vendor Questions and Agency Responses
1 are the side solid steel and what gauge is the metal Yes, solid steel. Twelve gauge or sheet metal thick enough to resist denting and strong enough to secure loads via D rings welded to it.
2 what does the 4-inch top rail consist of. One inch square or round tie-down rail located 4” above the top of the steel sides and front.
Are the 14” sides with 4” tie-down rails referring to a steel-sided trailer with a rub-rail mounted on the outside (similar to our flatbeds)? No. The rail is positioned as described above.
Will the customer want LED box lights mounted on the frame or our recessed LED 3-light bar system with a single wiring harness? Our system works well, especially in rough terrain and areas with trees and brush as the lights are protected from damage. That would be fine so long as there are marker lights positioned as normal for a tandem trailer (markers on front and rear corners).
Does the customer have a picture of the trailer? NO Will 2” x 8” lumber meet their needs as we do not use 2” x 6” lumber for our deck of the trailers? 2” x 8” lumber would be fine.
Is the term “box” referring to the bed of the trailer? Yes
