About this file
This document is a Request for Information (RFI) response from the Portland Air National Guard concerning the B315 RQS Exterior project, specifically addressing warranty details for Section 07 24 00 related to EIFS (Exterior Insulation and Finish System) and High Performance Colorant. The RFI clarifies warranty specifications, focusing on the duration and coverage of warranties for different project components.
The key clarifications include confirmation of a 5-year warranty for the High Performance Colorant, a 2-year standard contractor warranty (which is considered industry standard), and a potential 10-year warranty for EIFS repair based on manufacturer specifications. The document highlights that the original 10-year contractor warranty was not considered bondable by the contractor's bonding company and was not consistent with industry standards, leading to these detailed warranty discussions and clarifications.

Portland Air National Guard RFI Responses
B315 RQS Exterior
Edition 2
1. Section 07 24 00, Item 1.08 B High Performance Colorant Warranty calls for “..a minimum six (5) year limited warranty...”. Is the owner looking for a six (6) year or five (5) year minimum warranty for the High Performance Colorant? 5 year warranty.
2. Section 07 24 00 Warranty calls for a minimum 10-year limited warranty covering EIFS repair and either a minimum five- or six-year minimum warranty for the High Performance
Colorant Warranty. In addition, Attachment A, Statement of Work, Base Specific Notes, calls for a 10-year contractor warranty which would not be bondable by our bonding company and not industry standard. The industry standard is a two-year contractor warranty. Is the owner’s intent to receive a 2-year contractor warranty, a 10-year warranty for the EIFS repair, and either a 5- or 6-year warranty for the high performance colorant? 5 year on colorant warranty, 2 year contractor warranty, and 10 year on EIFS repair if that is the manufacturer’s specifications.
