About this file
This document is a Questions and Answers (Q&A) file for Request for Quote (RFQ) #140F1S25Q0068 related to an Intrusion Detection and Fire System project for the Fish and Wildlife Service at Holla Bend National Wildlife Refuge. The Q&A addresses three key points: (1) project performance timeframe, which is confirmed as a 90-day completion period, (2) product specifications allowing both DMP and Honeywell products that meet salient characteristics, and (3) fire system cabling details, specifically noting that two existing ceiling-mounted hallway smoke detectors can be retained while a third smoke detector near the front door will require new wiring and installation of a fire panel.
The related federal contract opportunity is issued by the Department of the Interior's Fish and Wildlife Service, with the solicitation number 140F1S25Q0089, focused on fire and security systems for the Holla Bend National Wildlife Refuge. The Q&A document provides critical technical clarifications that would help potential contractors understand the precise requirements and scope of the installation project, including equipment compatibility and existing infrastructure considerations.

RFQ# 140F1S25Q0068
Q&A
1. Performance Timeframe:
Could you please confirm the expected period of performance or required completion timeframe for each project? We were unable to locate a specified timeline in the solicitation documents and would like to confirm this detail before finalizing our Proposal. 90-day completion.
2. Product Specification – DMP vs. Honeywell:
The specifications reference DMP products. Could you confirm whether the requirement is brand-name only (DMP) or if Honeywell products meeting all salient characteristics would be considered acceptable equivalents? DMP and Honeywell products meeting all salient characteristics will be considered acceptable equivalents.
3. Is the fire system getting new cabling for the existing devices that were noted? The three smoke detectors. The two existing smoke detectors in the hallway are ceiling mounted, hard wired and that those can be used and do not need to be replaced. The 3rd by the front door is not existing and will need to be wired along with the fire panel.
