About this file

This is a Statement of Work (SOW) for solid waste and recycling services at Wolf Trap National Park for the Performing Arts, a national park in the National Capital Region that hosts 70-80 performances annually. The contract covers a one-year base period with four one-year options and requires the contractor to provide placement and servicing of multiple 6 cubic yard top-loading dumpsters with polyethylene lids at various park locations, plus recycling containers for cardboard and paper, and on-call construction debris removal.

Service requirements are divided into two distinct seasons with dramatically different frequencies. During the Performing Season (approximately May 1 through mid-September, 20 weeks), the contractor must service twelve 6 cubic yard dumpsters approximately 40 times each per a government-provided schedule, one 8 cubic yard recycling container 22 times, and remove eight dumpsters at season's end. During the Non-Performing Season (mid-September through April 30, 35 weeks), the contractor must service four 6 cubic yard dumpsters 16 times each and one 8 cubic yard recycling container 15 times, with no service on federal holidays or weekends. Additionally, the contractor must provide on-call service for one 30 cubic yard construction debris dumpster as requested. The contractor is responsible for all labor, materials, supplies, equipment, scheduling, and coordination with the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR), who will provide advance notice of service schedules and any modifications. The National Park Service reserves the right to request additional pulls with at least two weeks' advance notice during both seasons.

STATEMENT OF WORK

SOLID WASTE AND RECYCLING SERVICE

WOLF TRAP NATIONAL PARK FOR THE PERFORMING ARTS

1.0 BACKGROUND

Wolf Trap National Park for the Performing Arts, home of the Filene Center, is an urban park established for the presentation of the performing arts. The Filene Center hosts between 70 and 80 performances throughout a typical performing season. The increased volume of park visitors during the Performing Season results in an increase in the need for solid waste and recyclable trash disposal services.
