About this file
This Scope of Work details a heat pump mini split installation project for the National Park Service at the Mojave National Preserve in California. The project involves installing seven (7) government-furnished HVAC mini split units across three locations: the Kessler 4-plex residential building (four units), the Rocking L house (one unit), and the Hole in the Wall Visitor Center (one unit).
The specific equipment includes three 18,000 BTU and three 12,000 BTU Pioneer ductless mini-split inverter heat pump systems, along with six decorative PVC line cover kits. The contractor must complete all installation tasks within 60 calendar days after notice to proceed, including electrical work, mounting condensers on concrete pads, installing refrigerant lines, restoring exterior building surfaces, and performing required testing. The project requires compliance with multiple codes and standards, including NFPA, California building energy efficiency standards, and OSHA requirements. Installers must hold current state HVAC/electrical contractor licenses and provide a one-year parts and labor warranty on workmanship and supplied materials.
