Limited Lead-Based Paint Inspection – 767 Shenandoah Street, Harpers Ferry, WV 25425

Dear Mr. McDiffitt:

On January 3rd, 2023, at your request, Ben Sawyer of WECI Inc. conducted a limited lead inspection according to EPA and WV regulations at the aforementioned address. The materials inspected and tested included the exterior wall coverings on the Northwest aspect of the building in anticipation of upcoming preservation efforts.

Seven samples were taken from various white coatings on the masonry and plaster surfaces for analysis by a NLLAP approved laboratory.

• All seven samples were analyzed to contain lead below the EPA and WV definition of lead-based paint (0.5% by weight).

The lab noted that substantial amounts of substrate present in the samples may have an effect on the calculated results of lead content by weight. Due to the deteriorating condition of the sampled materials, substrate exclusion from samples was not possible.

The OSHA Standard for lead paint is in the hyperlink at the end of this report for reference. Attached are the sample log with onsite analysis results and the chain of custody. Please contact me if you have any questions regarding this report or the associated regulations.
