About this file

This is a Statement of Work for the replacement of windows at the Yosemite Valley Magistrate Court building (U.S. District Courthouse, VAB 528) located in Yosemite National Park. The primary objective is to replace 26 double-hung sash windows and, as an additive option, 6 fixed pane windows to restore operability, ensure proper egress, and improve energy efficiency. The existing window frames will remain in place with new sashes installed using standard Z-bars. The contractor must provide all materials, labor, supervision, and equipment, including site visits for measurement verification. The specified windows are Milgard V400 Tuscany models (or approved equals) featuring double-hung sashes with double-glazed argon-filled glass, low-emissivity coatings, and energy efficiency ratings meeting Title 24 2025 standards. Hardware includes SmartTouch locks and fiberglass mesh screens (except for fixed windows), with exterior and interior colors of Classic Brown and White Colonial respectively.

The contractor's responsibilities include removing and disposing of existing windows outside Yosemite National Park, installing replacement units, verifying operability and weather-proofing, maintaining building security during and after work, ensuring security systems remain functional, and providing warranty documentation and one-year labor warranties. The period of performance is 30 days from Notice to Proceed. Work hours are generally 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Additional requirements include compliance with vehicle hauling restrictions (vehicles over 45 feet prohibited; controlled traffic 20 miles east of Mariposa) and bear/animal safety protocols. This is a small business set-aside procurement (NAICS 238910) with quotes due by 12:00 p.m. PST on June 4, 2026, and all questions must be submitted by May 22, 2026, to Brian Roppolo at brian_roppolo@nps.gov.

This project requirement is to replace the sash windows at the Courthouse, located in Yosemite Valley. Background

The Yosemite Valley Magistrate Court building is a modular building that was placed at the site in 1985. The windows are original to the building construction. They will be replaced through this project with the double hung sashes specified below. There will be an additional option for the replacement of the fixed windows.

Scope

This project consists of the removal and replacement of 26 sash windows with double-hung windows at the Courthouse. The existing sashes will be removed, leaving the existing window frames in place. A standard Z-Bar will be installed to hold the new window sashes in place.
