About this file

This document details the salient characteristics for a Crash Phone system for Bradshaw Army Airfield (BAAF) to be implemented on 9 September 2025. The system includes multiple components: a ConsortAlert DOD VoIP Emergency Notification System with 20 SIP sessions, a TRENDNET 6-Port Gigabit PoE+ Switch, an Emergency Phone Line Bridge, a 15-inch User Interface Console, 8 Cisco VoIP Phones, 8 Cisco VoIP PTT Handsets, and a Patch Panel with Cable Management. The system will be DOD/JITC certified and installed using fiber infrastructure at the Air Traffic Control Tower and Airfield Operations building.

The Crash Phone system's primary performance capabilities include facilitating communication between the Air Traffic Control Tower and Airfield Operations during emergencies, connecting to various emergency response departments, and interfacing with Air Traffic Control Tower recording equipment. When activated by going off-hook, the system will instantly ring all stations simultaneously, establishing a secure and immediate teleconference. The equipment will be shipped directly to the Island of Hawaii, with installation including delivery of user manuals, system documentation, and a detailed system design document compliant with AR 95-2 & AR 420-1. The system must pass all testing phases with documented results.
