About this file

This document is a Specification Index and detailed specifications for a federal construction contract to fabricate and install three entry canopy structures at the Fairbanks District Office (FDO), 222 University Avenue, Fairbanks, Alaska 99709, for the Bureau of Land Management.

The project scope includes fabrication and installation of three entry canopy structures comprised of hollow structural section (HSS) columns and beams with steel roof deck. The work is divided into specifications covering general requirements (Division 01), thermal and moisture protection including metal roof panels (Division 07), and finishes including exterior painting (Division 09). Key products and materials specified include: architectural metal roof panels with standing seam design (minimum 24 gauge, G60 galvanized steel with PVDF fluoropolymer coating, basis of design Metl-Span Magna-Loc 90); sheet metal flashing and trim (pre-finished galvanized steel ASTM A653/A653M with PVDF coating); self-adhering polymer-modified underlayment; and exterior latex paint systems for ferrous metals. The metal roofing system must achieve Class 90 wind uplift resistance per UL 580, structural design with deflection not exceeding L/180 per ASTM E1592, and maintain weathertightness per ASTM E1592. Contractors must maintain detailed project records, provide Gantt-chart construction schedules with activities not exceeding seven days, submit submittals within specified timeframes (21 days for initial review, 14 days for resubmittal), and conduct work during regular office hours (7:00 AM to 5:00 PM) while minimizing disruption to ongoing government operations. All materials and equipment must include manufacturer warranties covering finish degradation and weatherproofing for five years from Substantial Completion.
