About this file
This is a Questions & Answers document for BLM Alaska Contract 140L6326Q0006, Amendment 02, regarding FDO Exterior Door Canopies installation.
The document clarifies contractor responsibilities for the canopy installation project. The contractor is responsible for verifying all existing utilities, lights, and power locations; however, the contractor is not responsible for furnishing or installing new canopy-mounted lighting or electrical devices. If existing exterior lights or buried power must be relocated to accommodate column footers, the contractor shall notify the contracting officer for resolution. Existing keypads will not require relocation. For the gutter downspout at Canopy 1 locations, which is identified as a faux downspout, the contractor must remove it if the canopy structure creates a conflict, then patch, repair, and repaint the existing block to match. The gutter downspout near Canopy 2 is not affected by the work. Additionally, Canopies 1, 2, and 3 serve as emergency exits during normal business hours; the contractor must verify alternate egress paths for building occupants and provide interior and directional signage. Work outside normal hours is permitted when requested in writing and approved based on the nature of the work and government staff availability. The government will provide general utility routing information via Sheet ES-1 attached to the amendment but does not provide detailed as-built or utility locate information. Unknown conditions affecting the work require notification to the contracting officer for resolution.
