About this file
This PowerPoint presentation contains detailed specifications for a 1/8 scale B-52H static display model intended for outdoor installation at Minot Air Force Base, North Dakota. The model specifications include a wingspan of 24 feet, maximum weight of 400 pounds, and a mounting system featuring a cylinder with 1-2 bolts for secure placement. The presentation includes photographic documentation of previous model iterations, current stand configurations, and precise mounting measurements from multiple angles, with specific emphasis on the right-side panel access and mounting mechanism.
The accompanying federal contract opportunity is a Sources Sought / Request for Information (RFI) issued by the 5th Contracting Squadron seeking potential vendors to manufacture a high-fidelity, heritage-quality outdoor B-52H model. The government is conducting market research to identify capable manufacturers who can create a model that can withstand North Dakota's extreme environmental conditions, ranging from -40°F to +100°F, with considerations for high wind loads, snow/ice accumulation, and long-term UV exposure. The RFI, amended on 21 January 26, invites industry feedback on draft Statement of Work requirements, particularly regarding materials, fabrication techniques, aircraft markings, and design standards for the static display model.
