About this file

This is a Statement of Work (SOW) for a 1:8 scale B-52 Stratofortress Bomber static display model for the 5th Bomb Wing at Minot Air Force Base in North Dakota. The static display model is intended to honor the aircraft and its maintenance personnel, requiring a detailed exterior model capable of withstanding extreme North Dakota weather conditions, including temperatures ranging from -40°F to +100°F and high wind speeds.

The SOW specifies detailed requirements for the model, including specific organizational and unit markings, such as 23rd Bomb Squadron insignia, 5th Bomb Wing insignia, nose numbers, command insignia, and distinctive unit markings. The model must be constructed of fiberglass or similar durable material, painted in traditional Air Force B-52 gray, and mounted on a specific plate with precise dimensions. The vendor must provide assembly instructions, and while the vendor is responsible for delivery, Air Force personnel will handle final assembly and installation. The document is associated with a Sources Sought/Request for Information (RFI) opportunity under the Department of the Air Force Global Strike Command, with an amended submission due date of 4:00 PM on 21 January 2026.
