About this file

This is a Questions and Answers amendment document for contract B-50552, addressing clarifications regarding fixture specifications and brand requirements. The procurement seeks replacement fixtures that are not floor-mounted but rather mounted at 3 inches off the floor. The buyer has specified detailed technical specifications that prospective bidders must match, though no specific brand name or model number is mandated. The current installation features a discontinued Acorn 1418 unit, which serves as a reference point for the replacement specifications.

The amendment clarifies that any manufacturer meeting the required specifications will be considered acceptable, including brands other than Willoughby. Bidders should note that the specifications provided in the attachments are the controlling documents for determining product acceptability. The buyer emphasizes that brand name is not a qualifying factor; rather, compliance with the detailed technical specifications is the determining criterion for proposal evaluation. This approach allows for competitive bidding across multiple manufacturers while ensuring the replacement fixtures meet the functional and dimensional requirements of the existing installation.

B-50552 Questions and Answers

1. Q: The full model number is missing still. After the "ECW" there are four numbers to be used. Then looking at some of the other specs on the sheet it will probably not work. One thing that caught my eye is the 3 inches off the floor. What is supposed to be 3 inches off the floor?

A: We are not requesting a specific brand name or model, The specs provided must match the requested units. The fixture mounting is not on-floor, off-floor was added, as it was not an option on the spec sheet, and off-floor mounting is what is required at 3” off the floor.

2. Q: Other than Willoughby, any other brands are acceptable?

A: We are not requesting a specific brand name. Currently a discontinued Acorn 1418 is installed. Any brand matching the required specs provided, in the attachments, will be considered for acceptance.
