About this file
This document is an Emergency Purchase Statement from the State of Illinois Chief Procurement Office for General Services. The Illinois Department of Corrections is leasing two 20-foot portable cooler trucks to store dietary commodities for the Stateville Correctional Center due to a freezer/cooler failure that resulted in inadequate temperature control. The agency is seeking to prevent food loss and provide cost savings by procuring this emergency equipment. The expected lease term is from January 15, 2024 to April 14, 2024, with an estimated total expenditure of $16,344.
The agency utilized best efforts to include Business Enterprise Program certified contractors in the emergency procurement process, but there were no vendors available under the corresponding NIGP codes. The funding source for this emergency purchase is State appropriated funds. The vendor selected, Polar Leasing, was the only business able to provide the required equipment on an emergency basis.
