About this file

This document is Addendum 1 for the Manatee Hammock Fishing Pier Renovation project issued by Brevard County Purchasing Services in Florida, dated March 4, 2025. The addendum provides clarifications to prospective bidders regarding the bid package, specifically addressing six key questions about the project requirements. The bid opening date remains Wednesday, March 19, 2025 at 10:00 AM, with no changes to the overall bid terms and conditions.

Key clarifications include the determination that no permitting will be required by Brevard County or the Florida Department of Environmental Protection, no bid bond is necessary, no existing structure plans are available, and no specific mudline elevation data exists. Additional technical specifications were provided, such as confirming deck lumber should be 2" x 6" DSS 86 grade. The addendum also confirms that Builder's Risk insurance is not required and Professional Liability insurance is unnecessary since the project does not involve professional or consulting services.

ADDENDUM 1

TO ALL PROSPECTIVE BIDDERS

This is an Addendum to and shall be considered as part of the original bid package for the above-mentioned bid. Please acknowledge receipt of Addendum 1 in space provided on Price Sheet. Bidders are requested to acknowledge receipt of this addendum with their bid.

CLARIFICATION TO QUESTIONS RECEIVED:

***Clarification regarding permitting requirements: It has been determined that no permitting will be required by Brevard County OR Florida Department of Environmental Protection. For this reason, please disregard Page 17 - “6. Permits”. ***

Question 1: Sheet 1 of the ITB states no bid bond required, Sheet 10 states Bid Bond Form is required. Can this be clarified?

Answer 1: Please disregard the Bid Bond Form on the Contractor’s Checklist (page 10). No Bid Bond is required for this Invitation to Bid.

Question 2: Are there any plans or as-builts for the existing structure?

Answer 2: No. Please follow scope.

Question 3: Are there mudline elevations along the pier available if water access is required?

Answer 3: At this time, we do not have specific mudline elevation data along the pier. It is recommended that contractor attend site visit to assess conditions. Details of site visit can be found on page 1 and page 12 of the Invitation to Bid.

Question 4: Will Builder’s Risk need to be included?

Answer 4: Builder’s Risk is not required for this Invitation to Bid.

Question 5: Will Professional Liability Insurance be required and any other specialty insurance policies?

Answer 5: Because this project does not involve professional or consulting services, Professional Liability is not required. Please see page 20 of the Invitation to Bid for Indemnification and Insurance Requirements.

Question 6: Page 17 Decking Replacement states DSS 86 grade lumber but does not provide a size of material. Is this to be 6" or 8" wide, 5/4" or 2" thick?

Answer 6: Deck lumber should be 2” x 6”

Please note that the bid opening date and time remains Wednesday, March 19, 2025 @ 10:00 AM.

All other terms and conditions remain unchanged.

Sincerely, Mary Bowers Purchasing Manager
