About this file

This is an Annual Wage Order No. 33 issued by the Missouri Division of Labor Standards, effective March 2026, establishing prevailing wage rates for public works construction projects in Cole County, Section 026. The document provides hourly wage rates for two categories of construction work: building construction and heavy construction. Building construction rates apply to standard building projects and include occupational titles such as Carpenter ($58.06), Electrician Inside Wireman ($64.92), Plumber ($75.59), Iron Worker ($74.57), Operating Engineer ($70.55), and Roofer/Waterproofer ($57.87), among others. Heavy construction rates apply to highway and heavy construction projects, with rates such as Carpenter at $64.42 and Electrician Outside Lineman at $87.78. The wage order was filed with the Secretary of State on March 10, 2026, with the last date for filing objections set at April 9, 2026. Any affected parties may file objections in triplicate with the Labor and Industrial Relations Commission within thirty days of the certified filing.

The prevailing hourly rates included in the wage order encompass all applicable fringe benefits as defined in Missouri Revised Statutes Section 290.210. For occupational titles where fewer than 1,000 reportable hours were received, the Division of Labor Standards established the public works contracting minimum wage using data from the Missouri Economic Research and Information Center, marked with an asterisk in the wage tables. Overtime compensation requirements mandate payment of not less than one and one-half times the prevailing hourly rate for work exceeding ten hours in a single day or forty hours in a calendar week, and twice the prevailing hourly rate for all work performed on Sundays or designated holidays. Designated holidays include January 1st, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas, with the following Monday observed if a holiday falls on Sunday. All workers on public works projects are entitled to a thirty-minute unpaid lunch period daily.
