About this file
This Performance Work Statement (PWS) outlines a non-personal service contract for hood and duct cleaning services at the United States Air Force Academy (USAFA). The contract requires a contractor to clean and maintain grease-laden vapor exhaust systems in various dining and food service facilities, including Mitchell Hall, Arnold Hall, Falcon Club, and multiple other buildings across the installation. The primary tasks include comprehensive cleaning of exhaust systems (including fans, hoods, and ducts) to comply with National Fire Protection Agency (NFPA) standards, with cleaning frequencies ranging from 1 to 6 times per year depending on the specific location.
Key performance requirements include 100% compliance with safety policies, obtaining Fire Department approval after cleaning 95% of the time, providing a cleaning schedule 30 days in advance, and submitting detailed inspection reports within 10 calendar days after service. Contractor personnel must be certified by organizations like the International Kitchen Exhaust Cleaning Association (IKECA) and follow strict safety and environmental protocols. The contract emphasizes proper hazardous material handling, waste disposal, and coordination with facility managers, with cleaning to be performed during normal business hours and potentially requiring work outside standard times to minimize operational disruptions.
