Project Area Access for BCLH IRSC solicitation

For contractors seeking to view treatment units within the BCLH IRSC project area, access approval must be granted by the Ranger District. This document outlines the process for obtaining a road use permit to access areas within the Forest Closure area.

Step 1: Provide at least two working days’ notice to Heidi Andersen (heidi.andersen@usda.gov), Brett Blundon (brett.blundon@usda.gov), and Darrin Neff (Darrin.neff@usda.gov) via email. Given the holiday season, it is prudent to email all three of these contacts to ensure that someone will be available to process this request.

Step 2: A road use permit and risk assessment will be sent to the requestor. The road use permit needs to be filled out and signed electronically. The risk assessment needs to be read and signed by all personnel that will be entering the closure area. These completed documents need to be returned to the Forest Service contact via email.

Step 3: The Ranger or their acting will sign the road permit and the risk assessment and email back to the contractor along with gate codes. This permit will be valid for the duration of the solicitation period and will grant access to the entire project area. The contractor will be required to carry this permit with them at all times while accessing the closure areas. Marion County Sheriff’s department does patrol these areas and the permit will be needed to avoid a citation.
