This is a Statement of Work (SOW) issued by the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) for historic repairs at the Savenac facility on the Lolo National Forest, Superior Ranger District near Haugan, Montana 59867.

The project encompasses two primary repair scopes: repairing wind storm damage to the administrative building roof, and repairing the rotting foundation and siding of the East Cottage caused by moisture and poor drainage. For the administrative building, work includes removing damaged materials, repairing damaged rafters, replacing sheathing, installing new underlayment, and installing government-furnished metal shingles, with all work matching the historic character of the structure. Prior to beginning work, the contractor must submit seven items for government approval within a 10-day processing period: roof sheathing, roof paper, sill log lumber, concrete mix, wall vapor barrier, construction sequence, and construction schedule, all written in layperson's language. The contract price range is between $25,000 and $100,000, with an estimated start date of July 2026 and a completion deadline of 90 calendar days from notice to proceed, no later than October 1, 2026.
