About this file
This file contains technical specifications for pipette calibration services required by the Illinois State Police (ISP) Forensic Labs. The contract procures on-site pipette calibration services that must comply with ISO 17025 accreditation standards. Services include preventative maintenance consisting of replacement of worn seals, O-rings, shafts, and pistons, with calibration verification performed using a minimum of four weighings at three volume settings for adjustable pipettes. All calibrated pipettes must be affixed with stickers indicating expiration date, service date, and vendor name, and each calibration must be accompanied by an ISO 17025 compliant calibration certificate. The vendor must maintain ISO 17025 accreditation throughout the contract term and provide a 12-month warranty covering both labor and parts.
Calibration certificates must be provided in electronic or paper format and must include comprehensive documentation: vendor name and address, calibration date, next due date, documented uncertainty, "as found" and "as left/calibrated" status, pass/fail determination, equipment manufacturer and size, calibration technician's printed name and signature, balance identification including model and serial number, environmental factors (temperature, humidity, barometric pressure, air density, and Z-factor), methodology used, and performance data demonstrating pipette compliance with manufacturer specifications. No pricing information, set-asides, incumbent details, or contract term duration are specified in this attachment.

2. Stickers must be issued for an affixed to each pipette calibrated listing the expiration date (month/year), date of service (date/month/year), and vendor name.
3. Vendor must maintain ISO 17025 accreditation during this contract.
4. Calibrations of pipettes must be done on-site.
5. Preventative maintenance must be done as part of the calibration check. Services will include: replacement of worn seals, a-rings, shafts, and replacement of pistons. Method used must be a minimum of 4 weighings (at 3 volume settings, if an adjustable pipette). Adjustment to manufacturer specifications, calibration certificates, pipette sticker as described above, thorough pipette cleaning, visual and pressurized leak test, reminder notice for scheduled service, and 12 month warranty of labor and parts.
1. All certificates must be provided in either electronic or paper format. Certificates must include, at a minimum: Name/address of calibration vendor, the date of calibration (day/month/year), next due date (month/year), documented uncertainty, 'as found' and 'as left/calibrated’, status (pass/fail), manufacturer, size, printed name and signature of individual conducting calibration, what balance was used (identified by model and serial number), environmental factors (temperature, humidity, barometric pressure, air density, and Z-factor), method used, and data indicating the performance of the pipette.
