About this file

This document provides details for a USAID project in Zambia called the Business Enabling Project. The project aims to catalyze greater gender equality and inclusive private sector investment and trade in rural Zambia by strengthening government and civil society organizations to implement improved policies and streamlined processes. It will support creating an enabling environment that incentivizes productive investments in trade, agriculture, energy, eco-tourism and sustainable natural resource management. Specifically, the project will provide technical assistance to reform policies promoting gender-equitable investments in these sectors. It will also strengthen decision-making through partnerships between government, the private sector and civil society organizations where women's interests are represented. The document outlines climate risks relevant to the project's geographic scope and interventions, potential impacts, risk ratings and actions for addressing risks at the activity level, such as awareness campaigns, encouraging insurance, and monitoring measures in work plans and evaluations.
