About this file
This document contains a safety data sheet and safety narrative template for solicitation N39430-20-R-2229 for the operation, maintenance, and repair of the Motor Vessel Independence owned by the Naval Facilities Engineering Command. The contractor will be required to provide a properly credentialed crew, support personnel, facilities, and appropriate supervision to perform navigation, operation, management, long-shoring, marine equipment design and fabrication, logistics, alterations, and dry-docking of the vessel. The contractor may also be required to provide alternate or additional vessels and crews to support offshore missions should the MVI become unavailable due to schedule conflicts, mechanical problems, or mission requirements. The safety data sheet portion of the template requests safety information such as experience modification rates, days away from work or job transfer rates, and total recordable case rates for the last three years, as well as explanations for any rates over thresholds and trends. The safety narrative section provides space for the contractor to describe its safety management system and subcontractor evaluation process, as well as innovative safety practices and processes for reporting and preventing unsafe conditions.
