About this file
This Statement of Work (SOW) outlines requirements for recycling scrap metal from the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Gaithersburg campus, which produces over 500,000 pounds of scrap metal annually with an anticipated increase of 200,000-300,000 pounds per year. The contractor must purchase and recycle 100% of scrap aluminum, stainless steel, light iron, tin, copper, and brass at no cost to the government.
The five-year contract runs from May 1, 2024 through April 30, 2029, requiring the contractor to provide 40-yard roll-off containers and equipment, primarily near Buildings 301 and 309. The contractor must respond within 48 hours for container pickup and provide same-day empty container replacement. OBJECTIVE
NIST requires services to recycle scrap metals produced on the NIST Gaithersburg campus. The objective is the removal, sale, and recycling of scrap metal from the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), 100 Bureau Drive, Gaithersburg, Maryland, 20899.
