Attachment II - Macdonough Hall floorplans.pdf

This document is a design and layout specification for a comprehensive fitness facility at the US Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland. The project, managed by Life Fitness Family of Brands with contact Tim Ghilaim, involves the creation of approximately 14,500 square feet of fitness space across multiple levels.

The facility includes diverse fitness equipment and functional areas organized by purpose. Ground level includes a basketball/multipurpose court, strength and conditioning zones with Hammer Strength equipment (body arc extensions, leg press, chest machines, shoulder press, leg curl, etc.), cable motion machines, and accessory storage. A second level accommodates approximately 50+ stationary bikes and cardio equipment arranged in rows. The design incorporates dedicated zones for functional training with medicine balls, suspension trainers, and climbing equipment; a separate free weights area with barbells, dumbbells, and weight racks; and specialized spaces for battle ropes, agility work, and core training. The specifications include detailed equipment lists with quantities—such as 8 Midshipmen Smith machines, multiple Integrity brand bikes and treadmills, and numerous Hammer Strength machines—organized by functional category. The facility includes climate control provisions (ceiling height N/A, approximately 14,500 square feet), natural lighting through arched windows, white support columns for structural clarity, and appropriate floor surfacing for different activity zones. The document provides comprehensive architectural renderings and floor plans from multiple perspectives showing equipment placement, traffic flow, and space utilization to accommodate high-volume user demand typical of military academy training environments.
