About this file
This document is a Navy Ship Repair Specification for the USS APL 67, containing multiple work items for ship maintenance and repair to be executed by September 30, 2024. The specification covers five primary work items: (1) welding a kettle foundation in the main galley, (2) preserving and touching up accessible voids, (3) repairing chill water lagging, (4) overhauling primary and secondary CHT (Collection, Holding, and Transfer) pump assemblies, and (5) resurfacing the cosmetic polymeric deck covering on the main quarterdeck.
The work items involve detailed technical requirements such as surface preparation, paint application, equipment testing, and component replacement. Each item specifies precise locations, quantities, and technical standards, including references to military specifications like MIL-PRF-24613 and SSPC-SP 10. The specification requires contractors to perform tasks like hydroblasting deck drains, conducting borescope inspections, bench testing equipment, and ensuring environmental and safety compliance. All work is to be completed using FY26 Standard Items and guided by specific Navy technical references, with careful attention to surface preparation, equipment restoration, and documentation of all processes.
