About this file

This document is an Attachment J R6 Invasive Plant Inventory Field Form for a federal contract opportunity. The form is used to collect details about the location, distribution, and coverage of invasive plant species during a field survey. Key details include the site ID, date, ownership, forest area, examiner name, plant species, GPS coordinates, and instructions for creating a related map polygon.

Total Area (Gross Area) - The area of encompassing infestation. Think of the area of represented by polygon (deformed circle on map) that contains the entire infestation. The polygon can be any shape (long and skinny, amoeboid, or nearly circular) as long at it encompasses the infestation. For a gravel pit it may represent edges of the gravel pit. This is the area of a blob on a map that indicates where the infestation is located.

Percent Infested – The portion of the Total Area occupied by the invasive species.

Infested Area- The area actually occupied by invasive species. It is the mathematical product of the Percent Infested multiplied by Total Area.
