About this file

This is a project map document from the Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources (DWR) detailing six infrastructure and habitat improvement projects in Buchanan and Dickenson Counties. Project 1 involves road daylighting for a 1.7-mile section west of Bull Creek Road and Coalfield Expressway intersection, requiring clearing of invasive shrubs and downed trees. Project 2 requires fabrication and installation of two pipe gates and construction of a 50'x50' gravel parking area. Project 3 encompasses one mile of road daylighting and clearing of invasive shrubs from 12 acres across four locations, followed by hydroseeding with DWR-provided seed mixture. Project 4 involves 0.3 miles of road daylighting to remove autumn olives and installation of a pipe gate. Project 5 requires pipe gate fabrication and installation near Route 80 between Haysi and Breaks Interstate Park. Project 6 involves installing DWR-provided information kiosks at 10 designated locations.

Each project is clearly mapped with aerial/topographic imagery showing exact locations, distances, and infrastructure placement points. The maps use color coding and legends to indicate features such as habitat restoration areas, roads, wet spots, access infrastructure, gates, and parking lots. Project areas are marked with combinations of highlighted road sections, crosses for gate locations, "P" symbols for parking areas, and numbered locations for kiosk installations.
