About this file
This document is a Specifications Attachment for a Louisiana Department of Corrections (DOC) fire hydrant replacement and repair project at the Allen Correctional Center in Kinder, Louisiana. The scope of work requires a contractor to supply labor, materials, and equipment to replace and repair fire hydrants, specifically involving two primary tasks: replacing a fire hydrant behind the maintenance shop and repairing a leaking fire hydrant in front of travel trailers. The preferred fire hydrant brand is Mueller Super Centurion Fire Hydrant Series with 6-inch nominal pipe size and pressure ratings of 250 PSI or 350 PSI. A site contact, Taylor Maricle, is provided for potential bidders, with contact information for site visit coordination.
The specifications outline detailed requirements for the contractor, including shutting off water, excavation, hydrant removal and replacement, backfilling, leak verification, and work area cleaning. The contractor is responsible for material delivery and pickup, debris disposal, and must schedule water outages with facility maintenance while providing estimated downtime. No specific pricing, funding sources, or contract term details are provided in this document. The project appears to be a targeted maintenance and infrastructure improvement initiative for the DOC's correctional facility, focusing on critical water infrastructure reliability and safety.
