1. SCOPE OF WORK:

The Veterans Health Administration (VHA) Non-Expendable Equipment National Program has identified the A-dec® Dental Delivery Units and Chairs product line as a candidate for a VA-wide (otherwise referred to as “national”) single Requirements contract award.

A-dec® Dental Delivery Units and Chairs are designed to facilitate dental examination, treatment, and/or minor surgical procedures performed in dental clinics. The dental delivery unit can be configured for rear or side delivery and integrates instrumentation mounts, cuspidors, assistant’s holders, lights, a foot control and an adjustable electric chair adaptable to correct body positioning of the patient during the examination, treatment or cleaning of patients’ teeth. Dental delivery units and chairs may be partially or completely attached as integral components or may stand separately as self-supported units.

A-Dec® dental chairs and delivery units distinguish themselves through advanced ergonomic design, reliable engineering, and a forward-thinking digital platform that streamlines workflow and enhances comfort for both patients and practitioners. Unique features include ultra-thin, flexible backrests and dual articulating headrests for ideal patient positioning, allowing clinicians to maintain healthy ergonomics and access the oral cavity with ease with a low chair height of 13.5 inches. The delivery units are highly customizable, adapt to ongoing practice changes, and feature connected technology with A-dec+ integrated Deluxe Touchpad, offering centralized equipment management, remote diagnostics, and continuous software updates that future-proof the operatory. Delivery systems are equipped with easily accessible instrument holders ensure intuitive and efficient operation. Dedicated solutions for infection control, patient stability, and a range of customizable upholstery and color options.

The patient population served by VA healthcare systems routinely presents with more severe disabilities and complex medical needs compared to the general population, which places unique demands on clinical environments and equipment. Many veterans require accessibility accommodations due to mobility impairments, chronic pain, neurological conditions, or other service-related injuries. As a result, dental chairs and equipment used in VA clinics must offer superior support, easy transfer options, and stability to safely serve veterans with a higher prevalence of physical and medical challenges. This necessity underscores the importance of advanced design, robust construction, and adaptable features. A-dec chairs incorporate several thoughtful features designed to aid mobility-impaired veterans, ensuring safe and comfortable access to dental care. Wide backrests and multi-position armrests provide stable support, enabling easier and safer entry and exit for patients with mobility challenges. The chair’s low base-down point and open design allow wheelchairs to roll in close, simplifying transfer and clinician assistance. Ultra-thin backrests enable practitioners to maintain ergonomic positioning while assisting veterans during transfers, reducing risk to both patient and staff. Precision hydraulic motion ensures gentle, controlled movement to prevent sudden jolts, supporting patients with physical sensitivities. increasing comfort, stability, and safety during dental procedure. These dedicated design elements make A-dec chairs highly inclusive for veterans requiring extra assistance.

The Contractor must demonstrate the ability to meet all requirements for the solicitation. The objective is to provide Dental Units and Chairs to be used by clinicians throughout the VA medical centers and facilities. The period of performance is for a base of 12-months with four 12-month option periods.
