About this file

This is a seasonal responsibilities attachment document for a grounds maintenance contract with the State of South Carolina for the Venues at Arsenal Hill. The document outlines specific landscaping and grounds care tasks organized by season, with contractor discretion to initiate needs discussions with the venue manager prior to work commencement. Fall and early winter services include pruning and trimming of plants, shrubs, and trees in coordination with horticultural protocols and event schedules, removal of diseased vegetation, and application of granite sand to garden paths in late December or early January to a depth of approximately two and a half inches, with material sourced from Martin Marietta Quarry to match existing installations. Late winter and early spring services encompass similar pruning and trimming activities, removal of compromised vegetation, and application of premium dyed dark brown mulch to landscape areas in early to late spring to a depth of approximately two inches, with material sourced from Garners Ferry Landscape Supply and landscape areas requiring pre-application preparation. Late spring and summer services include replanting of large bare areas in May as needed, removal of diseased or compromised vegetation, and continued pruning and trimming activities.

The contract additionally allows for the contractor to implement seasonal plantings and landscaping improvements beyond those listed as standard seasonal responsibilities, with the contractor bearing ongoing maintenance obligations for any enhancements installed. All timing for pruning, trimming, and other seasonal work requires coordination and approval from the venue manager to accommodate horticultural best practices and the facility's event schedule. The document explicitly notes that the seasonal responsibilities listed are examples and not exhaustive of potential work requirements.
