About this file

This document is an Agricultural/Wildlife & Habitat Land Lease for the Union County State Fish and Wildlife Area (24AL2515) in Illinois. The Illinois Department of Natural Resources is seeking bids for agricultural farming services on this state-owned property. The lease requires the tenant to follow a detailed cropping plan for corn, soybeans, sunflowers, and cover crops over the 2024-2027 period. Specific planting and harvesting requirements are outlined, including leaving standing rows of corn for wildlife. The tenant must also follow restrictions on certain pesticides and herbicides. Bidders must submit their responses by the due date specified in the Invitation for Bid (IFB).

The lease agreement specifies the total acreage available, which is 512 acres, with a breakdown by crop type and year. The tenant will also be responsible for custom farming 25 acres within the Controlled Hunting Area. Pricing is based on a per-acre lease rate, and the tenant must comply with the cropping plan requirements. Failure to adhere to the plan may result in termination of the lease agreement.
