C. Background and Objectives

The selected DB Contractor is expected to be familiar with and conform to a variety of standards and requirements for design, construction, and project management. Included in these requirements is the latest edition of PBS-P100: GSA Facilities Standards for the Public Buildings Service, (P100) which shall govern design, performance, and management for the project.

All hazardous material will be mitigated, abated or encapsulated. GSA RHO approval required.

A pre-alteration assessment will be required to identify the extent of hazmat anticipated, or, alternately, the contractor may assume all materials contain ACM and proceed with demolition as requiring abatement as part of their scope.

The selected DB Contractor shall provide careful planning and coordination to ensure that the courthouse and all of its functions remain fully operational and as unhindered as possible throughout the duration of the project.
