1.0 Introduction
1.1 The Agricultural Research Service (ARS) is the U.S. Department of Agriculture's chief scientific in-house research agency with the mission to deliver scientific solutions to national and global agricultural challenges. 1.2 The USDA, ARS Cattle Fever Tick Research Unit, located in Kerrville, TX, has a requirement for a
Priefert Cattle Sweep System.
2.0 Objectives
2.1 The USDA’s Cattle Fever Tick Research Unit (CFTRU) has a requirement for a Priefer solid sheeted cattle sweep system designed to safely move and sort cattle in and out of cattle research rearing barns. The sweep system must be compatible with the current Priefert cattle squeeze chutes and other Priefert cattle working equipment.
3.0 Technical Requirements
3.1 Priefer solid sheeted cattle sweep system compatible with the current Priefert cattle squeeze chutes and other Priefert cattle working equipment.
4.0 Specifications
4.1 135” solid sweep gate with a 30’ adjustable alley.
4.2 Must be spring loaded and have double piston latches in sweep gate to allow user safety while moving cattle through the system.
4.3 Must have sheeted panels and gates to give the user and cattle added security, less stress and easy flow through the system.
5.0 Deliverable/Schedule
5.1 Delivery must be FOB to the Cattle Fever Tick Research Unit (CFTRU), 2700 Fredericksburg Rd., Kerrville, Texas 78028.
5.2 Delivery must be within 90 days after receipt of order (ARO).
