About this file
The document is an Attachment A - Questions and Answers (Q&A) Response for a Sharps Waste Management Services solicitation issued by the Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Health Administration. The RFQ (Request for Quote) 36C24725Q0464 is a 100% set-aside for Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) for hazardous waste management services, specifically focused on medical waste disposal at multiple VA clinic locations in South Carolina. Key details include a site visit scheduled for February 13, 2025, from 1:00-3:00 PM EST at CAVHCS EMS Building 100, with Linda Hall as the point of contact.
The Q&A responses provide critical operational details about waste management, including waste separation requirements (trace chemo to be incinerated in yellow boxes, other medical waste to be autoclaved in white barrels), weight tracking methodology, and location-specific waste generation estimates. The primary service location is the Dorn VA campus, with estimated weekly usage of 90-100 containers totaling approximately 2,200 pounds. Additional clinic locations include Anderson CBOC, Greenville CBOC, and Sumter CBOC, which are serviced bi-weekly. The solicitation will be awarded on a best value basis, with non-price factors evaluated on an acceptable/unacceptable basis, and requires offerors to be listed on the VETBIZ website and SAM system.
