About this file

Attachment A is a contract document from the State Forester's office detailing contractor responsibilities for tree-thinning services at Antler Pond, which appears to be a tree stand improvement (TSI) project on state lands during Phase 2 of the project. The document comprehensively outlines the specific requirements for tree cutting, including instructions to cut all live trees not marked with red paint (with exceptions for trees under two feet and Rocky Mountain juniper trees), cut all standing dead trees except those marked with a red "W", and manage tree removal and slash in a controlled manner.

The contractor is required to provide all labor, equipment, and materials, cut trees using approved methods (axe, power saw), maintain road clearance, minimize damage to selected leave trees, and follow strict fire safety protocols based on the National Fire Danger rating system. Additional requirements include specific slash pile management (size, location, height), stump cutting guidelines, and adherence to varying operational restrictions depending on fire danger levels ranging from Low to Extreme, with a complete cessation of operations during Red Flag Alerts. The document emphasizes environmental care, fire prevention, and precise forest management techniques.
