About this file

Attachment 7 is a Federal Grand Jury Court Reporter Security Review Checklist detailing comprehensive security requirements for contractors handling sensitive grand jury (GJ) materials. The checklist covers critical security protocols including personnel approval, background investigations, physical security, information protection, computer and media handling, material destruction, and incident reporting. Key requirements include maintaining an approved personnel list, ensuring sub-contractors comply with security standards, protecting GJ materials from unauthorized access, using government-approved storage containers and computer devices, implementing strict alarm and access control systems, and having procedures for destroying and transporting sensitive documents.

The security requirements are extensive, mandating that contractors provide a list of approved employees with physical access to GJ materials, undergo background investigations, use government-approved rooms with secure locks and alarm systems, limit access to authorized personnel, protect information from unauthorized viewing, mark and control computer devices and storage media, and be prepared to report any incidents that could compromise GJ information. The checklist provides a detailed compliance framework with columns for marking requirements as either compliant or noncompliant, ensuring rigorous security protocols are followed throughout the handling of grand jury materials.
