ELECTRONIC SECURITY SYSTEM (ESS) IT ROLES
SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR
A. The Systems Administrator manages the day-to-day operations by monitoring system performance, configuration, maintenance, and repair. Ensures that records of system downtime and equipment inventory are properly maintained. Trains staff in how to use software and hardware. Performs troubleshooting as required. Establishes, maintains, and manages user accounts. Installs, modifies, and maintains systems and utility software. Diagnoses and recommends fixes to problems or potential problems with the network and its hardware, software, and systems.
B. Duties and Responsibilities Ensures the stable operation of the computer software systems and network connections. This includes planning, developing, installing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all network software and communication links. Analyzes and resolves software program and connectivity issues.
Installs, configures, and maintains hardware and software. Assists in system design, development, and implementation.
C. Minimum Clearance, Education and Experience
1. Possess a current Secret Clearance
2. Minimum of seven (7) years of overall professional experience in the systems administration field with five (5) years of overall experience in Microsoft Windows client and server operating systems.
3. Systems Administrator shall have certification that meets DoD 8570.01-M IAT-II Information
Assurance Technical (IAT) and Computing Environment certifications.
4. Preferred - Minimum five (5) years of experience with electronic security systems, specifically hands-on experience in installing, configuring, maintaining, and resolving issues with Intrusion Detection Systems, Access Control Systems and Closed Caption TV, specifically with Lenel OnGuard. Preferred Lenel OnGuard Certified Expert (LCE) certification.
D. Minimum Certifications
1. One (1) of the following IAT-II certifications - CCNA Security; CySA+; GICSP; GSEC;
Security+ CE; SSCP; CND
AND
2. One (1) of the following Computer Environment certifications - GCDA; MCA: DS; MCA SQL
Server; MC: Azure Administrator Associate; MCM SQL Server 2008; MCM Server 2008R2; MCSA:
WS 2008; MCSA: WS 2012; MCSA: WS 2016; MCSE: WS 2012; MCSE: WS2016; MCITP SA;
MCITP EA; MS2016: AD I&N
CLIENT ADMINISTRATOR
A. The Client Administrator provides installation, configuration, maintenance, repair, and user support for Windows 10 client devices. Trains staff in how to use software and hardware. Performs troubleshooting as required. Installs, modifies, and maintains systems and utility software. Diagnoses and recommends fixes to problems or potential problems with the network and its hardware, software, and systems. Ensures the stable operation of client computer software systems and network connections. This includes planning, developing, installing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all network software and communication links. Analyzes and resolves software program and connectivity issues. Installs, configures, and maintains hardware and software. Assists in system design, development, and implementation.
B. Minimum Clearance, Education and Experience
1. Possess a current Secret Clearance
2. Minimum of two (2) years of overall professional experience in the workstation/desktop administration field and overall experience in Microsoft Windows OS and Lenel client systems.
3. Client administrator shall have certification that meets DoD 8570.01-M IAT-II Information
Assurance Technical (IAT) and Computing Environment certifications.
C. Minimum Certifications:
Security+ CE; SSCP; CND
AND
2. One (1) of the following Computer Environment certifications - GCDA; MCA: DS; MCA SQL Server; MCITP EA; MCITP EDA; MCITP EDST; MCITP SA; MCM SQL Server 2008; MCM Server 2008R2; MCSA: WS 2008; MCSA: WS 2012; MCSA: WS 2016; MCSE: WS 2012;

NETWORK ADMINISTRATOR
A. Responsible for directing technical work on projects. Performs a variety of analyses and prepares appropriate documentation. Prepares and makes briefings and presentations. Leads team in on-site management of installations. Works independently and installs, operates, maintains, configures, troubleshoots, and repairs IT network systems devices, circuits, cables, components, switches, routers, software, components, and connectivity. Assists in the development and management of project plans.
This includes the review of task performance and work products for correctness, for adherence to design concepts and user requirements, and for progress in accordance with schedules. Coordinates with the Vendor PM, COTRs, and government user representatives to ensure accurate solutions and government satisfaction on technical matters.
B. Minimum Clearance, Education and Experience:
1. Possess a current Secret Clearance
2. Minimum of five (5) years of overall professional experience in the network experience including at least two projects in telecommunication technical areas, at least one project must have occurred within the past three (3) years
3. Network Administrator shall have certification that meets DoD 8570.01-M IAT-II Information
2. One (1) of the following Computer Environment certifications – CCNA-V; CCNA Collaboration;
CCNA; CTP+; Cloud Essentials+
DATABASE ADMINISTRATOR
A. Provides all activities related to the administration of computerized databases. Projects long-range requirements for database administration and design in conjunction with other managers in the information systems function. Designs, creates, and maintains databases in a client/server environment.
Conducts quality control and auditing of databases in a client/server environment to ensure accurate and appropriate use of data. Advises users on access to various client/server databases. Designs, implements, and maintains complex databases with respect to JCL, access methods, access time, device allocation, validation checks, organization, protection and security, documentation, and statistical methods. Applies knowledge and experience with database technologies, development methodologies, and front-end /back-end programming languages (e.g., SQL). Performs database programming and supports systems design.
Includes maintenance of database dictionaries, overall monitoring of standards and procedures, file design and storage, and integration of systems through database design.
B. Minimum Clearance, Education and Experience:
1. Possess a current Secret Clearance
2. Three (3) years progressive experience of database query languages such as Oracle, PL SQL, SQL Server, and MS Access. Experience also shall include experience in at least two (2) ESS projects responsible for administering, operating, maintaining, and securing a large-scale computer database.
3. Database Administrator shall have certification that meets DoD 8570.01-M IAT-II Information
