About this file
This is a Management Notice from the United States Mission to the United Kingdom establishing the 2026 authorized holiday calendar for Mission staff across three locations: Embassy London, Consulate Belfast, and Consulate Edinburgh. The notice was issued on September 17, 2025, under Notice Number 2025-110.
The document provides a comprehensive list of 24 holidays observed in 2026, divided into American holidays (marked with "A") and local holidays (marked with "L"). There are 11 American holidays observed uniformly across all locations, including New Year's Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, President's Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Veteran's Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day. Local holidays vary by location: Embassy London observes 16 total holidays; Consulates Belfast and Edinburgh each observe 20 total holidays, with location-specific observances such as St. Patrick's Day and Easter Tuesday in Belfast, and Bank Holidays and Victoria Day in Edinburgh. The notice indicates that Consulate Hamilton publishes its own separate authorized holidays list. All offices are directed to recognize Boxing Day on December 28, 2026. The Management Notice was originated by N. Moyo in MGT/HR and received clearance and approval from multiple offices including the Ambassador (W. Stephens), Deputy Chief of Mission (K. King), and Executive Office (V. Ritchie).
