About this file

This document is a detailed technical specification (Section 087145) for Security Door Hardware for a Department of State Overseas Buildings Operations project in Bandar Seri Begawan. The specification provides comprehensive requirements for door hardware, focusing on security-critical components such as hinges, cylinders, cores, keys, power door operators, and electromagnetic door holders. Key technical requirements include:

Specific hardware provisions mandate the use of Medeco security locks with distinct keying systems for different facility types (office buildings, residential buildings, access control facilities), with detailed guidelines on key management, core configurations, and key distribution. The specification requires unique registry numbers, mandates specific key types (Single Keyed Different, Master Keyed, Keyed Alike), and establishes strict protocols for key control, including provision of control keys, change keys, and specialized keys for various secured areas. Hardware must meet stringent standards including NFPA, ABA, and UL requirements, with finishes predominantly in satin stainless steel and specific performance criteria for components like hinges, door operators, and locking mechanisms.
