About this file

This is a Solicitation document for the Salem Warehouse Siding and Windows Replacement project, issued by the USDA Forest Service for the Mark Twain National Forest. The project involves replacing exterior siding and windows on a warehouse building measuring approximately 70 feet by 32 feet. The base contract time is 60 calendar days, with a start date to be determined (TBD). Work must be performed during normal business hours (7 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday), and the contractor must submit daily reports with pictures to the Contracting Officer (COR) at the end of each workday. The government will occupy the building during construction and will move obstructions from window interiors and remove rebar and fencing prior to new window installation.

The two base bid items include: (1) Warehouse Siding – Vinyl, requiring removal and replacement of existing siding and building wrap with new premium lap vinyl siding in an 8-inch exposure pattern with wood grain texture, approved by COR from manufacturer selection; and (2) Warehouse Windows, requiring removal of approximately 20 existing wood windows and replacement with Fibrex composite, single-hung windows with Low-E glass and basic solar tint, featuring no grilles and proper water sealing. Four optional bid items are included for corrugated steel wall panels, soffit and fascia replacement, gutter installation and repair, and rotted/damaged wall sheathing or fascia/soffit board replacement at unit prices. All work must comply with manufacturer specifications and industry standards, with particular attention to proper flashing, caulking, and moisture protection. The contractor is responsible for field verification of dimensions, quality control planning, submission of warranties, and compliance with OSHA guidelines and EPA regulations.
