About this file
This announcement is a solicitation for a directed energy technology research program called Research and Development Satellite Assessment (RaDSAt). The solicitation seeks white papers that could potentially result in two arrangements to fulfill the needs of the Air Force Research Laboratory Satellite Assessment Center. The first arrangement is for Satellite Threat Assessment and Research Studies (STARS) and addresses data and information curation and directed energy effects modeling, simulation, and assessment. The second arrangement is for Satellite Assessment Tools for Unique Research Needs (SATURN) and involves developing and modernizing directed energy modeling, simulation, and analysis tools as well as infrastructure modernization. Offerors should present methods for tasks such as satellite data collection and quality management, materials research, satellite resiliency studies, probabilistic risk assessment modeling, and multi-domain space testbed development. The estimated total value for RaDSAt is $36 million over multiple years. White papers are due within a specified period under this closed two-step solicitation process. The Air Force Research Laboratory is the issuing agency.
