About this file
This document is an attachment for a state and local contract opportunity issued by the Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR) for the installation of a new pre-engineered shelter at the Baldwin Lake Fish Cleaning Station. The attachment provides detailed specifications for the pre-engineered shelter, including the required size, roofing material, wood components, and acceptable manufacturers. It also outlines the work to be included in the base bid, such as purchasing, delivering, and installing the shelter and concrete floor, as well as an additive alternate for the complete erection and finishing of the shelter. The shelter is required to have a 3:1 roof pitch with 2-foot overhangs, and the acceptable wood components include glulam beams, #1 grade 2x6 SYP tongue and groove decking, and 2x6 or 2x8 cedar or #1 grade treated SYP fascia.
The document also specifies the required wood preservative, which is a solid color exterior latex stain, and the acceptable manufacturers for the metal shingle roofing. The shelter must be erected per the manufacturer's recommendations, and any exposed or damaged wood edges or stamps must be sanded smooth before applying the two coats of wood preservative.
