About this file

This document is a technical specification sheet detailing the salient characteristics of the Scantron OpScan 4ES Optical Mark Recognition (OMR) scanner for METC (Military Education and Training Cadre). The Scantron OpScan 4ES is an optical scanning device designed to process marked forms at a throughput rate of up to 2,800 sheets per hour, with processing speed dependent on form data density and software configuration. The scanner features a 100-sheet automatic document feeder and 100-sheet main output stacker, supporting sheet sizes ranging from 2.5" x 5" to 9" x 14" on 60 to 100 lb. offset paper. The device is equipped with 16-level reflective OMR read heads available in single or dual-side configuration, optimized for pencil-mark detection on proprietary legacy Mark Reflex and Trans-Optic forms.

The scanner communicates via USB 2.0 connection using a virtual serial port protocol and features an integrated 40-character alphanumeric display for real-time status and error messages. The device has a compact desktop footprint measuring 21.25" (L) x 14.5" (W) x 9" (H) and weighs approximately 17 lbs. This specification sheet serves as a technical reference document for the equipment requirements and does not include pricing, response dates, or contract vehicle information.
