REAL ID COMPLIANCE MAY 7, 2025
The US Army, like other federal agencies, will require REAL ID-compliant identification for access to military installations and facilities, including for boarding domestic commercial flights.
All Department of Defense-issued identification cards are Real ID Compliant. Most state issued drivers licenses are Real ID Compliant as well. Real ID-compliant cards will have a star marking on the upper top portion of the card. If the card does not have one of these markings, it is not REAL ID-compliant and won’t be accepted as proof of identity to access the base.
For individuals that do not have a real ID compliant identification, they will be required to present two forms of identification off of the list of approved ID and documents listed below:
State-Issued Driver’s License or State-Issued ID AND one of the following:
U.S. passport U.S. passport card U.S. Department of Defense ID, including IDs issued to dependents An acceptable photo ID issued by a federally recognized Tribal Nation/Indian Tribe, including Enhanced Tribal Cards (ETCs).
HSPD-12 PIV card Transportation worker identification credential U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services Employment Authorization Card (I-766) U.S. Merchant Mariner Credential Veteran Health Identification Card (VHIC)
For a complete list of TSA acceptable identifications, go to tsa.gov/id
If you arrive at the installation with neither (1) a Real ID compliant identification, nor (2) Two forms of ID and documentation from the approved list, you must be escorted to enter the installation.
Further questions should be directed the Letterkenny Visitor Center at (717) 267-8003 or 8055.
