About this file
This document is a project area map for the Blue Lake Updated Fence Proposal located within the Lincoln National Forest's Smokey Bear Ranger District in New Mexico. The map depicts a fencing project covering 8 acres with a perimeter of 2,150 linear feet, dated January 4, 2024. The project area is illustrated with topographic details showing elevation contours, burned trees (indicated in green shading), and surrounding terrain features including Ridge and AND roads. The fence location is marked with a red outline in the central portion of the mapped area, with two walk-through access points (indicated by pink triangles) and one gate (indicated by a yellow square) integrated into the fence design.
The document includes a vicinity map showing the Smokey Bear Ranger District's location within Lincoln National Forest relative to nearby communities including Ruidoso, Carrizozo, Lincoln, and Capitan. Regional context is provided through inset maps displaying the district's position within New Mexico and its proximity to major highways. The project area is specifically identified in blue on the district map. This appears to be a planning or scoping document for a fence construction or renovation project on federal forestry land, likely related to post-fire recovery or land management objectives given the burned tree area depicted.
