About this file
This document provides detailed specifications for hydraulic oil used in industrial equipment, specifically for American Baler Company machinery. The specifications outline requirements for a high-grade industrial oil that is non-foaming, non-detergent, with a viscosity rating of 150 to 200 SSU at 100 degrees F. The document recommends using an anti-wear component for severe duty applications to maximize hydraulic equipment life.
The specifications include a comprehensive chart of recommended hydraulic oils from various manufacturers, categorized by cold and warm weather applications. For warm weather and indoor heated environments, American Baler Company recommends Texaco Rando HD-46 or Mobil DTE-25. For cold weather and unheated indoor settings, they suggest Texaco Rando HD-32 or Mobil DTE-24. The document emphasizes the critical importance of maintaining the correct oil level at the high mark on the site gauge to prevent equipment damage and ensure optimal oil cooling, noting that oil levels may drop slightly after initial operation due to cylinder and flow valve voids.

HYDRAULIC OIL SPECIFICATIONS
Hydraulic fluid supplied should be a high grade industrial oil, non-foaming, non-detergent with a rating of 150 to 200 SSU at 100 degrees F. An anti-wear compo-nent is recommended for severe duty applications to obtain maximum life f rom the hydraulic equipment.
Fill reservoir until oil level reaches the high mark on the site gauge. Oil level may dro_p slightly aft er first operation. This is due to a void in the cylinder and flow valves. Fill the reservoir again if necessary. Oil must be maintained at the high mark at all times on the site gauge to help keep the oil, cooler longer and to prevent overheating of the oil. Resulting in damage to your equipment
l. The oils listed to the right meet the requirements or Dennison's severe duty axial pump and vane pump specification HF-O. They also meet the equivalent Vickers speci-l'ication 1-286-S.
2. Consult American Baler Company Enginet::ring Department if another oil type other than listed below is requesteJ.
3. American Baler Company recom-mends Texaco Rando HD-46 or Mobil DTE-25 for warm weather and indoor heated building appli-cations.
4. American Baler Company recom-mends Texaco Rando HD-32 or Mobil DTE-24 for cold weather and unheated indoor applications.
