About this file

This is an addendum to a Performance Work Statement addressing pesticide application services for grounds maintenance at eleven U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) projects located in Pennsylvania. The contractor must furnish all necessary management, personnel, materials, supplies, tools, equipment, fuel, and vehicles to perform herbicide and emergent growth applications for vegetation control.

Pesticide application services must be performed once annually at each of the eleven USACE properties with a required kill rate of 95% of target pests. Application should occur between May 15 and June 15, weather permitting, and must achieve a pre-emergent component preventing re-growth through at least September 30 of the application year. For upland locations, only general-use (non-restricted) pesticides are permitted. For locations in and adjacent to aquatic areas, contractors must use glyphosate N-(phosphonomethyl) glycine, isopropylamine salt, or isopropylamine salt of imazapyr. All pesticide applications require Contracting Officer Representative (COR) approval prior to application. The eleven properties range in area size from 18,797 square feet (Lock 5, Allegheny) to 512,914 square feet (Grays Landing Locks and Dam), with total combined area of approximately 1.6 million square feet. Properties are located across western Pennsylvania, including locks and dams on the Allegheny and Monongahela Rivers.
