About this file
This delivery and installation requirements document pertains to a California state contract opportunity for vending machines at the Westley SRRA Southbound rest area located on Interstate 5 in Stanislaus County. The solicitation is an informal competitive bid for nine vending machines consisting of one hot drink coffee machine, one ice cream machine, three snack machines, and three drink machines, along with one water fountain. The machines must be delivered and installed at the Southbound rest area approximately 20 miles south of Lathrop and configured within three separate alcoves measuring 126 inches wide by 47 inches deep. All equipment must be newly manufactured, with delivery and full installation required within 35 calendar days after receipt of order. Contractors must coordinate scheduling at least two weeks in advance with the BEP Vendor and BEC, obtain necessary security clearances for the restricted interstate rest area, and provide complete invoices including machine descriptions, serial numbers, brand, model, warranty information, and delivery location details.
Installation requirements include setting machines in place side by side and banded together, leveling and testing all units for proper functionality, removing existing equipment and all packaging materials, and providing comprehensive operator training on coin mechanisms, bill validators, and preventative maintenance procedures. Contractors must provide all necessary components for delivery, setup, and programming and are responsible for providing either a trade-in value for existing equipment or arranging removal to a recycler, with barcodes required to be returned to the department at invoicing. A truck with liftgate is required for delivery. Failure to meet the specified 35-day delivery deadline or notify the department within 10 days of receiving the order if delivery terms cannot be met may result in contract termination for default. The State reserves the right to inspect and reject any goods that do not meet specifications, and substitution of machines or barcodes is prohibited without advance written consent from the Buyer.
